Goose Creek State Park Opens Tar Kiln Trail

The Tar Kiln Trail at Goose Creek State Park officially opened on Saturday, November 10, 2007. A ribbon cutting ceremony with Ranger Sandra Fambrough and Earl Trevathan preceded an inauguration hike along the trail to the park's Environmental Education and Visitor Center where a luncheon reception awaited.

A plaque to be posted at each end of the trail reads, "Sierra Club Cypress Group Volunteers Helped Construct the Tar Kiln Trail in Memory of the Group's Co-founders Ruth and Earl Trevathan."
